Sekolah Sadar Sampah: Edukasi mengenai Isu Lingkungan Serta Sosialisasi Tindakan Tepat dalam Penanganan Sampah di SMK N 7 KOTA SERANG

Abstract

The issue of waste still remains an unresolved problem and has serious impacts on the environment as well as public health. The low awareness and concern of the community towards waste management, both direct and indirect impacts are the main causes of the worsening condition. If not addressed properly and sustainably, the negative effects will continue to spread. A strategic effort to tackle this problem is through intensive education for various groups, from teenagers and adults to the elderly.This training and socialization activity aims to escalate the school-level waste awareness through understanding environmental issues and socializing appropriate actions in waste management. This activity was carried out at SMK Negeri 7 Kota Serang. The results of this activity show an increased understanding among students regarding environmental issues as a global issue, particularly concerning waste problems. In addition, students gained insights from waste sorting simulations and intensive guidance on waste handling actions through the application of the 3R principles (reuse, recycle, and reduce). By doing this activity, it is hoped that participants would become as agents of change in maintaining cleanliness and the sustainability in their surrounding environment.
